History
I've been an implementor for the Worlds of Carnage MUD for a few years now. For those that don't know what that means,
its a person who maintains and writes the code for a Multi User Dimension.
This has taken up a lot of my time in the form of a hobby while at the same
time giving me an invaluable opportunity to exercise my coding skills.
Around July of 2001 I was working on creating a Web based editor for the data
files for the Worlds
of Carnage which had recently been converted from the inflexible
DIKU data format to a simple XML format.
At any rate I began writing the PHP code
directly embedded in the HTML and soon
became exasperated at the rigid structure into which I was cornering myself.
At that point I realized a need for flexibility and re-usability and the
InterJinn project was born.
The thinking behind the name "InterJinn" is
that "Inter" is short for interoperable,
interchangeable, Internet, and interface. On the other hand "Jinn" sounds a little like engine while also representing a
mythical creature of power and magic. If I have done my job well then
InterJinn will live up to its namesakes
:)
